SECRET QUIRAING
The Quiraing is one of the most visited locations on the Isle of Skye, partly because of its beauty, but also because of its easy access with the road and car park making it possible to drive there.
95% of visitors to the Quiraing never venture further than 200 metres from the car park, but this is like driving to Gretna Green and saying you have visited Scotland. To get the most out of this world class location, you really need to explore its hidden canyons and ridges, and this is exactly what our route does.

We start in Flodigarry on the north tip of Skye, and climb steadily upwards past hidden lochs towards a seemingly impenetrable cliff face ahead. We then zigzag up between towering pinnacles of rock where sunlight never ventures to reach the Table – a breathtaking plateau of lush green grass surrounded by vertical cliffs in almost all directions.
From here we can see our entire route, following the ridge of the Trotternish hills up Bioda Buidhe (from where the best view of the entire walk can be admired) and then down through Garden of the Gods – where golden eagles rule the skies. The mighty Beinn Edra looms large ahead of us, but don’t worry, as here we turn right and make out way downhill into Uig Bay, where our minibus will be waiting to collect you and return you to Portree.
